We are delighted to welcome the latest recipients of the FEDIP Future Digital Leaders Bursary Programme – Cohort Four.


This inspiring group brings together professionals from across the UK health and care system — spanning clinical, technical, regulatory, and analytical backgrounds — all united by their passion for improving digital health and care.

Tammy Karikari


Tammy is a dynamic regulatory affairs and digital health specialist who transitioned into technology after nearly 15 years in the pharmaceutical sector. Formerly a Senior Pharmaceutical Assessor at the UK's Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), Tammy was responsible for evaluating the safety, quality, and efficacy of medicines and combination products before turning her focus to the evolving world of software and artificial intelligence as medical devices (SaMD/AIaMD).

Her career transition began with a full-stack software engineering bootcamp, where she developed proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, and Python. Now working as a Senior Medical Device Specialist at the MHRA, Tammy plays a key role in shaping the future of digital health, regulating some of the most transformative technologies on the market, from AI-powered diagnostics to therapeutic platforms that are transforming patient care.

Outside of her regulatory work, Tammy is deeply committed to community and education. For the past 18 years, she has served as a governor at a primary school in East London, where she advocates for inclusive education, strategic development, and strong governance. She is passionate about advancing safe, effective, and equitable health technologies and empowering future generations to thrive



Jeanette Fraser


Jeanette has spent 15 years as an analyst with 9 of those years working for the NHS within the Kent and Medway system and is currently the Analytics Lead for Elective and Diagnostics Recovery within the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board as well as the Branch Lead for the South East branch of AphA and Deputy Chair for the Southeast Digital Skills Development Network (DSDN), Jeanette is also the lead steering group member of the Women in Healthcare Data Network and a non-executive director for KeyAnalytics.

Jeanette has a great passion for promoting development of the workforce and self being a big advocate for the national competency framework and believes that we all have a responsibility to develop key new skills within our fast-moving industry of healthcare analytics and really drive change for patients.

 

Jeanette has a Batchelors in Computer Science and completed a Master’s in Healthcare Management in 2022. Jeanette is a keen believer that the key to future analytics within the healthcare analytics field is through data science, but also strives to bridge the gap between technical and operational colleagues where context and communication is key to delivering fit for purpose products.

 

In her role as the new South East branch lead for AphA and Co-chair for the Southeast DSDN, Jeanette is keen to push the data and analytics development agenda and push for real recognition and professionalisation of the industry.


Oluwatimilehin (Timi) Olabamiyo


Oluwatimilehin (Timi) Olabamiyo currently a Senior Performance Analyst, where she oversees key reporting and analytical functions to support strategic decision-making across the HWHCT.

Timi began her NHS journey on a 12-week “Step into the NHS” programme at UHCW and has steadily advanced into key roles within data and analytics. Her growth has been marked by increasing responsibility, and she now manages a team member while contributing meaningfully to the Trust’s performance improvement strategy.

In 2024, she completed her Master’s degree in Data Science at the University of Wolverhampton where her project focused on reducing mental health inequalities among BAME communities, which sparked a strong interest in tackling health inequalities through data-led research and digital innovation.


Timi is now looking to build on her experience by developing advanced skills in machine learning, with the goal of generating deeper insights that improve patient outcomes, reduce health inequalities, and support more effective service delivery. In addition, she is passionate about leadership and committed to mentoring and empowering the next generation of analysts and healthcare professionals, helping to shape a more inclusive and data-informed future for the NHS.



Micaela Leal


I am a medical doctor specialised in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, now working in digital health as a Digital Patient Safety Manager for Digital Health and Care Wales (DHCW).

With a strong background in clinical practice and a growing expertise in digital clinical safety and health informatics, I support the development and assurance of safe, effective digital solutions across the NHS in Wales. I hold certifications in Clinical Safety (DCB0129/0160) and Change Management, and have completed a diplomature in Healthcare Management. My role involves facilitating communication between clinical and technical teams, contributing to clinical safety standards, and promoting a culture of patient safety within digital transformation. I am passionate about bridging the gap between frontline care and digital innovation to improve outcomes for both patients and clinicians.


 Kate Bobyn


Kate is a software engineer focused on healthcare system interoperability and security to improve patient outcomes and ensure safe access to clinical data. She has worked on the uplift of the NHS National Record Locator and Electronic Prescription System, applying HL7 FHIR standards and best practices in serverless API development. She also has an interest in Natural Language Processing stemming from her background in software translation and localisation; she is keen to explore how it can be leveraged in the NHS. 



Olufunmilayo Obadofin

Olufunmilayo is an analyst working with one of the NHS trusts in England. She believes strongly in the power of data-driven insights to support decisions that enhance patient-centred healthcare delivery across the NHS.


Previously, she worked with the Yorkshire and Humber Academic Health Science Network (AHSN) and is an alumna of the HDR UK Black Internship Programme. Currently, she serves as a steering group member of the Women in Health Data Network, an initiative dedicated to empowering women in health and care to thrive in data-focused roles. 

 




Preeti Modi

Preeti Modi is a dedicated digital transformation leader currently serving as the EPR Change Lead at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. A graduate of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) Improvement Advisor Programme and an alumna of the Florence Nightingale Foundation Windrush Leadership Programme, she brings a unique blend of clinical insight and digital innovation to her work.


Preeti’s contributions to healthcare transformation have been nationally recognised, including her selection for the 2023 GEMS: Hidden in Plain Sight (75@75) list and a finalist position in the 2024 BINA Global Awards for Rising Star of the Year.


Known for her collaborative approach, Preeti engages frontline staff in co-designing digital solutions that are safer, more efficient, and patient-centred. She applies systems thinking and inclusive leadership to drive meaningful change across the NHS.


Through the FEDIP Digital Bursary Programme, Preeti aims to further develop her systems leadership capabilities, build cross-sector networks, and champion evidence-based, equitable digital innovations that improve clinical safety, data sharing, and overall experience for patients and healthcare professionals.



Abbey Griffiths 


Abbey Griffiths is a Senior Nurse in Education with a strong passion for digital transformation and leadership development across healthcare. She believes in the power of compassionate leadership, lifelong learning, and inclusive environments where everyone feels a sense of belonging.

Abbey is dedicated to bridging the gap between clinical practice and digital innovation, ensuring that technology enhances, rather than replaces, human-centred care. She holds a PGCE, an MSc in Professional Practice, an MSc in Leading Digital Transformation, and an ILM Level 7 in Leadership and Management. She is also a Florence Nightingale Leadership Scholar (2023/24) and part of the Dragon’s Heart Climb Leadership Programme (2024/25).


Abbey is committed to inspiring growth, driving positive change, and supporting excellence at all levels. Her work focuses on empowering healthcare professionals to embrace digital opportunities with confidence, compassion, and purpose—ensuring a future of healthcare that is innovative, inclusive, and patient-focused.



Samer Hassan

Samer is a clinical informaticist with over a decade of experience in healthcare, combining a nursing background with expertise in digital health systems. He specialises in designing and optimising clinical workflows in Epic, ensuring that digital systems align with the needs of clinicians. Samer leads rapid decision groups across nursing/midwifery/allied health professions and critical care, troubleshooting system issues, supporting data mapping for reporting, and preparing readiness materials.

His work focuses on bridging the gap between technology and clinical practice, advocating for both clinicians and patients to ensure seamless integration and improved patient care. Samer’s global experience in Lebanon, the UAE, and the UK informs their approach to every workflow, ensuring a practical and effective solution for diverse healthcare environments.


Corielyn Bromley

Corielyn has spent two years as a dedicated Data Governance Specialist at the NHS Business Services Authority, with a strong focus on metadata management. Additionally, Corielyn serves as the Deputy Branch Lead for the Northeast and North Cumbria branch of The Association of Professional Healthcare Analysts (AphA). As one of the new EDI leads for AphA, Corielyn is also committed to helping the organisation take meaningful steps towards creating a more inclusive and diverse environment for all members.


Before joining the NHS Business Services Authority, Corielyn spent five years as a secondary science educator, honing skills in communication, data analysis, and educational leadership. This unique blend of experience in both education and data governance allows Corielyn to bring a comprehensive and insightful perspective to their work.


Corielyn holds a Bachelors in Criminal Justice and a Master's in Education. Corielyn is a champion for increasing data literacy and empowering the next generation of data and analytics. Corielyn is passionate about demonstrating the value and power of data through storytelling and enthusiasm.



Sanjay Budhdeo


Sanjay is a Neurology Registrar at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery and Innovate-MD Fellow at the London AI Centre, where he works on the application of AI to medicine. He is a Wellcome Trust Clinical Training Fellow at the Department for Clinical and Movement Neurosciences, University College London. During his PhD, he was a Visiting Postdoctoral Scholar and Bogue Fellow at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. He also received an enrichment award from The Alan Turing Institute. His PhD research used knowledge graphs and graph machine learning for drug repurposing. He previously worked at Boston Consulting Group and at Owkin, an Google Ventures funded AI in healthcare startup.


Irvin Balagosa


I am a registered nurse and digital health practitioner with over a decade of experience spanning emergency floor nursing, acute care, health informatics, data analytics, and clinical research. I’ve supported uro-oncology and stroke trials, including WHO-led COVID-19 studies, and previously served as Chief Health Information Officer, leading EHR projects and digital transformation initiatives.


I hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and have completed training through NHS Digital, Dell Technologies, the NHS Leadership Academy, the London Academy of IT, and a certified Health Informatics program. I am EPIC EHR certified in Clinical Documentation, Cogito Fundamentals, and Clinical Informatics.

A highlight of my career was serving as a Band 7 Digital Medicines Nurse, where I helped lead EPMA implementation. As a certified Digital Clinical Safety Officer, I ensured patient safety during rollout.


Currently, I work as a Clinical Data Analyst curating clinical terminology content, subsets, and mappings. On the weekends I enjoy photography, design, and web development.


Yanny Paola Delgado Pena

Dr. Yanny Paola Delgado Pena, Consultant Paediatrician at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Kings Lynn has more than 20 years of clinical experience, and a specialist focus on paediatric allergy and respiratory medicine. Over the past five years, Yanny has transitioned into a digital leadership role, combining clinical expertise with a strong commitment to healthcare innovation.


A pioneer in virtual care, led the development of a paediatric virtual ward, delivering safe, patient-centred care at home while easing pressures on acute services.


Yanny is also contributing to the implementation of Norfolk and Waveney Acute Hospital Collaborative Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system, ensuring paediatric needs are embedded in digital design and deployment. Passionate about the potential of technology to transform child health, and committed to driving system-wide digital change. As an aspiring future digital leader, Yanny brings strategic insight, frontline experience, and a collaborative approach to shaping the next generation of digital healthcare.


Amanda Jackson

Amanda Jackson is the Associate Chief Clinical Information Officer at Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust. As a Registered Adult Nurse and Specialist Community Public Health Nurse, she is passionate about leveraging digital solutions to transform healthcare, reduce inequalities, and improve outcomes. Amanda co-created initiatives such as Baby Bubble Leeds and a Digital Ability and Literacy screening tool, both of which support patients and address digital exclusion.


Her commitment to nursing earned her the title of Queen's Nurse in 2024, a testament to her leadership and dedication to community patient care and nursing excellence. Amanda actively collaborates with service users and staff to embed their experiences into service design, promoting digital literacy and inclusion. Her work is driven by a passion for enhancing healthcare outcomes and empowering colleagues and communities through technology, while ensuring digital inclusion remains paramount.


Tim Borham 


Tim Borham is a Clinical Product Specialist and HCPC-registered Paramedic with over a decade of experience at the London Ambulance Service NHS Trust. His career has evolved from hands-on emergency response to shaping the digital future of prehospital care through clinical informatics.


Currently, Tim works with the CCIO and Deputy CCIO, where he supports the implementation, development and continued use of digital health technologies including clinical AI implementation, remote video consultations, shared care record systems, and digital medication management systems. He is also actively involved in trust risk management, compliance with DCB1060 clinical safety standards, and project development.


As a Clinical Safety Officer, with a background in clinical preceptorship, and additional qualifications in intensive care paramedicine, Tim brings a blend of clinical expertise, digital innovation, and leadership to every project. His work continues to improve care delivery and operational effectiveness across the trust.


I’m a Data Quality Assurance Officer at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, with a background in both NHS and private sector roles. My work focuses on improving the accuracy, consistency, and quality of health data to support better decision-making and patient care.



Sharon Pandiyath Ravindran

In my current role, I was part of the team responsible for conducting data quality audits, support the implementation of trust wide data improvement frameworks, and collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to address data challenges. My work helps ensure that data is fit for purpose and compliant with national standards, ultimately supporting better patient care and operational decision making.


I joined FEDIP to be part of a community that values professionalism, ethical practice, and continuous improvement in the field of health informatics. I’m passionate about using high-quality data to make a meaningful difference in the way health and care services are delivered.



Oluwadamilola Eunice Adejinmi

Eunice is a Business and Data Intelligence Associate at Positive Futures, a charity that supports people with autism, learning disabilities and acquired brain injury. She works as part of a team driving data transformation across the organisation, contributing to the development of centralised data systems and enhancing data quality. Her work focuses on translating data into actionable insights that inform person-centred care and support strategic decision-making.She also plays a key role in building data literacy among non-technical colleagues, helping to foster a culture where data is accessible, inclusive, and impactful.



Passionate about ethical and inclusive digital innovation, Eunice is committed to ensuring that the voices and rights of the people supported by Positive Futures are reflected in how data is used.Through the FEDIP Future Digital Leaders Programme, she aims to expand her knowledge, strengthen her leadership skills, and contribute to wider health and care sector innovation.



Awo Hussein

Awo is a Digital Midwife in the NHS, bringing a decade of frontline maternity experience to improving safe, equitable digital services. Awo began her NHS career as a GP receptionist and pairs end‑to‑end patient‑journey insight with hands‑on clinical practice to shape solutions that work for women, birthing people and staff. She focuses on translating clinical needs into usable digital pathways - supporting EPR optimisation, digital maternity records and data‑informed improvements.

 

A holder of an MBA in Healthcare Management, with a major project focused on driving quality improvement in healthcare, Awo now brings that QI lens to digital - ensuring that changes are co-designed, evidence-based and deliver measurable benefit. 

 

Awo champions representation and inclusion in digital health, creating space for under‑represented voices and helping colleagues build confidence with technology.

 

 

Looking Ahead


Over the coming year, this cohort will develop as leaders through mentorship, professional body membership, networking, and access to expert-led learning. They will contribute their insight and energy to shaping a more inclusive, innovative digital future.
