FEDIP Senior Practitioners perform a range of work, including often complex non-routine technical and professional activities.
As FEDIP registered practitioners they help raise the profile of the
profession by displaying their competency through independent evaluation and committing to continuous professional development.

Senior Practitioners have evidenced that they have met the criteria as set out in the FEDIP Standards and, as such, can be entered onto the professional register.
The Federation for Informatics Professionals (FEDIP) maintain the only public register for all informatics professionals in the UK dedicated to bringing individuals and organisations together to deliver better healthcare through technology.

Many Senior Practitioners may want to work towards obtaining Advanced Practitioner status.

Senior Practitioner
To become a Senior Practitioner, you must submit evidence to support the competencies as required by the FEDIP Standards for informatics professionals in health and care.

All applications across all grades are assessed against the FEDIP 'standard'. These are a common set of guidelines and criteria that all informaticians can be assessed against.

The standard was written in consultation with the awarding professional bodies, UKCHIP and leading informaticians across the UK.
Senior Practitioners exercise autonomy within limited parameters and may have responsibility for the work of others. They perform a range of work, often complex non-routine technical/professional activities. Senior Practitioners identify, select and use appropriate standards, methods, tools and applications.
